The United Methodist Women are now doing business as “United Women in Faith" (UWF) and have a new logo and a new website. The decision was made at an international level to be more inclusive and more welcoming to a broader audience. Check out the new international website at uwfaith.org. or click on the red button below.
Every year our local UWF purchases books about leadership, mission, social action and spiritual growth for a special reading program. See the download link below at the bottom of the page to view the books we've selected for 2022!
The Carson Valley UWF is very active in supporting organizations in our community, as well as national and international programs. Click on the download link at the bottom of the page to learn more about the organizations supported by the Carson Valley UWF.
The UWF Members meet on the second Thursday of the month at a 11:30am potluck at the church. Program follows at 12:15pm. All are welcome!

On September 13, 2025, Tamara Brewer and Nancy Deis attended the UWF Great Northern District
Annual Meeting in Redding, CA. The business meeting was the normal with minutes and budget
approved and officers nominated and voted in. We sang with leadership by Jo Neish of Sparks UMC.
The speaker for the day was Cindy Evans, a lay preacher from Sparks. The best part of the meeting was
when they announced which churches had participated in the reading program (we had the most
readers) and also the units which had completed the requirements to be a five star unit and the units
that had completed all the channels of giving. Of course our active unit at Carson Valley UMC was
recognized for all of these accomplishments. We also got to brag on our wonderfully successful Holiday
Craft Faires. Our district is huge geographically and it’s nice that once a year we can come together to
celebrate and worship. This was the first in-person Annual Meeting we have had since 2019.
