In the last 5 years, the CVUMC has created a tradition of reaching out to churches who are located in a community that has been struck by tragedy. Most recently we raised donations for a church in Greenville California. The church had been badly burned by the Dixie Fire in October of 2021.
We hold Harvest of Thanksgiving Sundays on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The congregation is invited to bring nonperishable food items (or paper goods) to the altar prior to the service.
All items are then donated to our local Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
In addition, we make monetary donations to this organization from our Birthday Bank funds. Please click on this link to learn more about this wonderful organization.
