The CVUMC now offers a Caregiver Network group led by Nancy Raymond. The goal of this new group is to provide a way for caregivers to support each other by sharing experiences. Members have the opportunity to share aspects of this journey, discuss challenges, share advice and resources. The group meets in person at the church and via zoom, the choice is yours. The group meets every 3rd Thursday, at 1pm (except May, see above). If you are interested in being a part of this group, or know someone who might be interested, please contact the front office for Nancy Raymond’s email & phone. Being a caregiver is a special blessing; let’s support each other in this journey! If you want to join by Zoom you will need to let Nancy or Len know as Nancy will need your email to send you a Zoom link.
Do you like to cook? Do you like to talk on the phone? Do you like to shop? If you can answer "YES" to any of these, the Member Care Team can use your help. We are busy shopping and cooking meals for those that are sick. We are also very busy calling the members and friends of our church during this time of isolation and not being able to worship together. Many Hands make for light work, Proverbs 11:21. If you are interested in helping, please contact our front office and speak with Len or leave a message and we will get back to you! Thank you!
The United Methodist Women (UMW) craft group is meeting again! We are crafting the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month. We meet from 9:30am - noon in our church education room. Bring your own project and ideas, or we can provide ideas & supplies! If anyone wants supplies prior to that time from the craft closets, please call the church office and ask for contact info for Nancy Raymond. Crafts are in preparation for our Annual Craft Faire November 6, 2021. Join us! COVID protocol will be in affect during crafting. Please wear your mask & we will practice social distancing. See you here!
In case you didn't know, the CVUMC has a thriving Prayer Shawl Ministry! So if you knit and are interested in putting your skills and time towards a great cause...We need you! Each prayer shawl or lap robe is made for warmth, comfort or healing. Patterns of 3 stitches are mostly used to represent: birth, life and death or faith, hope and love. Each shawl gets a prayer card and is blessed before being given away. Any one can get a hand knit prayer shawl from the office to give for a health situation, loss of a loved one or just because you see a need. We presently have about 4 women who are knitting and we sure could use more help! If you are interested in knitting a prayer shawl, contact our main office. Have them give you the contact info for Jan Pohlman, who is presently leading this ministry. Thank you!
Please join us for a very special Bible Study...*at the church or at 88 Cups in Minden (1663 Lucern St. #B) if the weather is nice. Come and share, discuss & question. This group is for those who may not feel firmly about their beliefs... Those who don't attend church...those who question the existence of God. Those who often feel they are in a hard place... Those interested in this amazing group should contact the church office and we will put you in touch with a group participant who will reach out to you. All are welcome! *Please call Nancy at the following number to get on her list as meeting locations change weekly. 775-720-6266
