The area below also features groups that are in special need of volunteers as well as Bible study groups! Our monthly newsletter is also a great way to stay informed of upcoming events. Please scroll down the entire page to catch all the action this month. We hope to see you here!

Please bring a dish to pass as you are able, or just bring yourself :) Our program for October is entitled, "Colors." We will explore what colors represent your life. If you wish to join us for just the program, it will start at 12:15pm. Everyone is invited!
Our craft groups are currently meeting every Monday in October, 9:30am, in the church education room. Bring your own projects or ideas, plus we have lots of projects for varying skill levels. If you need supplies, come to one of the sessions or call Nancy Raymond (775) 720-6266. Crafts are in preparation for our Annual Craft Faire November 6, 2021. Join us!
Our Annual Craft Faire is set for Saturday, November 6th, 9am-4pm. Please join us for wonderful homemade crafts, bake sale, treasures from Grandma's attic, Kid's Market, silent auction and a yummy lunch! Call a friend and make a day of it! We'll see you here!
Do you like to cook? Do you like to talk on the phone? Do you like to shop? If you can answer "YES" to any of these, the Member Care Team can use your help. We are busy shopping and cooking meals for those that are sick. We are also very busy calling the members and friends of our church. Many Hands make for light work, Proverbs 11:21. If you are interested in helping, please contact our front office and speak with Len or leave a message and we will get back to you! Thank you!
The Caregiver Network group is currently meeting monthly and invites you to attend. This group, led by Nancy Raymond, meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month: Sep. 16, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18 at 1pm in the church conference room, (no meeting in Dec.) The goal of this group is to provide a way for caregivers to support each other by sharing experiences. Members have the opportunity to share aspects of this journey, discuss challenges, share advice and resources. If you are interested in being a part of this group, or know someone who might be interested, please contact the front office for Nancy Raymond’s email & phone. Being a caregiver is a special blessing; let’s support each other in this journey!
The CVUMC is once again offering a Men's Morning Bible Study, Wednesday mornings at 8am in the Conference room. The group uses the Upper Room as a guide. It's called a Men's group, but of course anyone & everyone is welcome! :) Please join us as we join to read, pray and discuss.
Please join us for a very special Bible Study...*at the church or at 88 Cups in Minden (1663 Lucern St. #B) if the weather is nice. Come and share, discuss & question. This group is for those who may not feel firmly about their beliefs... Those who don't attend church...those who question the existence of God. Those who often feel they are in a hard place... Those interested in this amazing group should contact the church office and we will put you in touch with a group participant who will reach out to you. All are welcome! *Please call Nancy at the following number to get on her list as meeting locations change weekly. 775-720-6266
Our Outreach Program is collecting quarters on an ongoing basis. The collection basket is in the lobby, front table, by the Fellowship hall door. These quarters are distributed to laundromats around Gardnerville as a blessing outreach. "Because God's love is free...but laundry is not"...Thank you for your donation to this special outreach program.
The CVUMC is again hosting a "Resistance Training"/Chair Exercise class. The class is designed for anyone looking for a modest level class with some light weight options. Classes meet in our large Fellowship hall space Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 10:30am. The class is free, but donations are accepted at each class. Come Join Us!
In case you didn't know, the CVUMC has a thriving Prayer Shawl Ministry! So if you knit and are interested in putting your skills and time towards a great cause...We need you! Each prayer shawl or lap robe is made for warmth, comfort or healing. Patterns of 3 stitches are mostly used to represent: birth, life and death or faith, hope and love. Each shawl gets a prayer card and is blessed before being given away. Any one can get a hand knit prayer shawl from the office to give for a health situation, loss of a loved one or just because you see a need. We presently have about 4 women who are knitting and we sure could use more help! If you are interested in knitting a prayer shawl, contact our main office. Have them give you the contact info for Jan Pohlman, who is presently leading this ministry. Thank you!
